Welcome to the Official Paul Lee website

At a young age I learned to play the drums, guitar and bass. Seemed that I excelled on the bass and decided that was my instrument of choice. In my late teens put together the famous garage band. (Oh and YES we played in the garage) From that point on I dreamed of being a performer. I started playing bass professionally in the mid 80’s and have been performing ever since. Over the years I have played with many top local acts. Shows mostly consisting of Clubs, Cooperate events, Private functions, Discovery Cruise Lines and the Florida Keys circuit. Including the famous Holiday Isle Tiki bar and Sloppy Joe’s in Key West.

I have been told that my bass playing makes a bass guitar, a support instrument into a full-fledged solo vehicle. My innovative slapping style, speed and technique emphasizes low, mid and high frequencies. I can function as a bass player in a band and also as a bass soloist.

The bas-sics. My main basses are a Fodera Classic Monarch signed by Victor Wooten. It features a Mahogany body with a flamed Maple top. Pre-Gibson Tobias Basic consisting of Walnut, Eastern maple and Purple heart stringers. 66 Fender Jazz, MTD 5 string fretless, and various other basses.

The sound. Crown power amplifiers, Alembic F1-X pre-amps with Alesis effects processors, Rane EQ, S.W.R bottoms equipped with RCF 18’s or JBL’s. For mids and highs either Hartke XL 4 X 10 or SWR Goliath lll 4 X 10 cabinets.
